Digital Print onto Glass | The Swan Rural Enterprise center

THE TASK:

A start up company known as Swan CIC wanted to set up a kitchen and diner operation on an educational campus that would look professional, hygienic and more up market than the average café.

Due to its location the Café would be used as an educational centre for farmers and teachers to conduct presentations relating to food production and preparation.

Swan CIC hoped that their branding would be clean, colourful and healthy in its approach whilst at the same time having an educational theme. To provide a high quality finish for its splash backs would require something more appropriate that the normal bland stainless steel materials and as these would be highly visible to all the customers - would need to look impressive and complementary to the overall theme.

Keeping costs low was important and this posed a problem.

THE SOLUTION:

Specialist trade printers Boyall Graphics & Print Ltd was invited to discuss the project.
After an initial meeting with the Technical Sales Specialist - Brandon Boyall It was agreed that a digital print on glass with photo quality digital print would be used for the splash backs and other areas throughout the restaurant. The artwork developed was a high quality 'Azul Aran' blue/ silver marble effect. Creating the artwork for the marble in house meant that Boyalls could include educational messages within the theme of the marble effect. Similar educational messaging was employed in other areas of the business such as on glass table mats. Boyalls then created complementary canvass and acrylic wall prints and installed Dibond wall lettering with matching bespoke wall clocks. Providing window vinyl graphics were provided for the glass front of the café.

THE BENEFITS:

Glass splash backs have provided an easier to clean, more hygienic finish.
At the same time providing a high quality, colourful feel to the kitchen. Designing the artwork in house meant that educational messaging was clear and effective throughout the premises and completely in line with Swans objectives. Using one supplier with complete in house capabilities ensured that branding and design was consistent whilst all deadlines were achieved. Costs were kept to a minimum. The Swan CIC's brief was fulfilled and exceeded.
